The MICE FM podcast was created and launched in March 2020 in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown. With lots of time on my hands, I decided to (finally) create and launch this podcast as a way to stay positive and forward-thinking, rather than sitting at home depressing over the MICE industry hitting a brick wall...

The MICE FM is a podcast for and about the MICE industry. A podcast where I talk to the movers and shakers in the industry, as well talk about exciting destinations, venues, hotels and more. Occasionally we will move into the business and marketing side of things as well. 

My vision for MICE FM is for it to become a global place where you come to both learn and get inspired, no matter if you are an agency owner, employed in the industry, an eventprof, a hotelier, an activities and tour operator and more. If you work in or towards the MICE industry, I hope you will get value out of your time listening to the weekly MICE FM podcast!

About Thomas Danielsen

I am a family man living in Riga, Latvia with my Latvian wife Julija, and our 3 kids. Julija also happens to work in the industry with background from both hotels and DMC's. 

I am originally from Norway but have been living in The Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) since 2004. 

Believe it or not, I am actually an IT guy who got sick and tired of "coding and nerding" and decided to venture into new territory. I left Norway in 2004 and moved to Vilnius, Lithuania to study at an international business school there (ISM School of Management).

Random, I know!

In 2005 I founded an incoming agent to Lithuania which now is called DMC Baltic (the name DMC Baltic came later). 

The company quickly became a success and we expanded into Latvia and Estonia in the following years.

In 2015 I sold DMC Baltic to my first employee and started working (from home) for a Norwegian MICE agency. 

In June 2019 I left that job and took a few months off. 

In September 2019 I bought back 50% of DMC Baltic, where I currently work as the Sales and Marketing Director of the company. 

In the beginning of 2020 I launched a blog called MICEnotes.com - just in time to see the industry I love come to a crumble.

We are currently living in unprecedented times and how the rest of this story will unfold is uncertain at best!
